ZTK Youth Club forms part of St Margaret College and is run by the college youth worker together with other youth workers and college support staff. The club has been running for the past 3 years. During the scholastic year it opens every Friday as a drop in centre. The young people have the opportunity to spend their free time in a safe environment and participate in discussions and team building activities.
During the summer, the club opens more frequently and provides a variety of workshops. The ZTK summer Youth club start in 2010 and has been implement again in 2011 and 2012. The young people attended 3 times a week for various activities such as sports, cultural visits, drama, dancing and photography. These programmes came to an end with an evening celebration and a bbq to celebrate the young people’s talents.
In addition, the college through the club applies for various funds provided by the government and the EU.
Youth exchanges are popular projects amongst the young people and several have had the opportunity to be involved in such experiences. 2 of these exchanges were hosted in Malta, one in 2010 and another in 2012. The exchanges in Malta were related to Social Inclusion, which involved young people from Finland and Latvia. This project was funded by the Finnish NA. In 2012, the exchange focused on sports and involved young people from Ireland, Finland and Italy.
